Mutare, Zimbabwe
We own them, and we run them
Pineberry Holdings owns and operates a small group of businesses in Zimbabwe. We are not an investment fund and we do not run a portfolio at arm’s length. Each company here has staff, premises and customers, and someone whose name is on it.

The companies
What we own and run
Four businesses, all trading. Every one of them now has a site of its own.

BF Mutare

Muroora Mart
Quality goods, great value — delivered in Mutare.
A neighbourhood retailer with an online catalogue and same-day delivery across Mutare. Its Diaspora Shopping Programme lets a relative abroad buy the actual groceries and have them delivered to a household here, which turns a remittance into goods rather than into an exchange-rate problem.

Speed Motor Engineering
Engine, gearbox and suspension work. Since 1996.
A working repair shop rather than a parts counter: engine and gearbox overhauls, suspension, brakes, clutches, tune-ups and hybrid systems. It is the oldest business in the group by some distance, and the one people bring a car to when someone else could not fix it.

420 Liquor Store
Time to Toast.
A licensed liquor store in Mutare built around a daily ritual: at 4:20 the work stops and you pour one. Premium spirits and Zimbabwean craft alongside tasting nights and cultural evenings. It reclaims “420” as a moment to pause — the brand is explicit that it is not a cannabis outlet.

02Approach
How we work
- 01
We operate, we do not just hold
Every company here is run day to day by people inside the group. We are on the premises, not on a quarterly call.
- 02
One market, understood properly
Everything we own trades in Zimbabwe. We would rather know one market well than have a presence in five.
- 03
Businesses that sell real things
Vehicles, goods, services. Trade with a margin you can explain to a customer without a diagram.
- 04
Slow on purpose
The oldest company here has been trading since 1996; the youngest opened last year. We add a business when it is ready, not when the page looks empty.
